A well-packed diaper bag makes short trips feel much easier. The best approach is not to carry everything—it is to cover feeding, changing, comfort and one or two unexpected delays.
1. Diapers and a portable changing mat
Pack one diaper for every couple of hours you expect to be out, plus two extras. A foldable changing mat creates a cleaner surface and helps keep the rest of the bag organised.
2. Gentle baby wipes
Wipes handle diaper changes, sticky hands and small spills. Keep a resealable pack of Wiplo Premium Baby Wipes within easy reach, and close the lid immediately after use to retain moisture.
3. A complete change of clothes
Include a season-appropriate outfit, socks and a small reusable bag for wet or soiled clothes. A spare top for the parent can also be surprisingly useful on longer outings.
4. Feeding essentials
Bring whatever your baby normally uses: a nursing cover, prepared feeding supplies, a bottle kept according to safe-storage guidance, a burp cloth and an age-appropriate snack for older babies.
5. Comfort and hygiene extras
- A pacifier or small comfort toy
- Hand sanitiser for adults
- Disposable waste bags
- A lightweight muslin cloth
- Weather protection such as a sun hat or light blanket
A useful packing habit
Restock the bag as soon as you return home. Keep frequently used items in the same pockets so they are easy to find while you are holding your baby.
